The Division of Risk Management is looking to reinvigorate and reimagine the Commonwealth's risk management posture and are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Risk Management Program Manager to join our dynamic team and drive us forward. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, with proven expertise in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks. As a Risk Management Program Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing administrative aspects of Division insurance and self-insurance programs, developing innovative strategies, ensuring the fidelity of the Commonwealth's property schedule, including program enrollments, billings and collections, and procurement of insurance and insurance services; work with actuaries and analyze actuarial data; plan and administer assigned risk management training and projects; and execute performance management for assigned staff. This role serves as the day-to-day liaison between the Commonwealth and our broker of record.
The Division of Risk Management provides liability protection to all state agencies, locally elected officials, regional jails, a number of Virginia's political subdivisions, and a variety of parties providing services for the public benefit.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to summarize data and communicate the important points and questions to management.
- Demonstrated excellent administrative skills.
- Familiarity with insurance and self-insurance programs and risk management information systems.
- Experience implementing and administering large scale risk management or related programs.
- Excellent negotiating and analytical skills.
- Experience analyzing financial reports, ideally actuarial reports, and gathering input data for reports.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Considerations:
- Coursework in Business or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education in a related field. Experience with public entities is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with claims involving public entities.
