Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

We are seeking a Senior Director, Discovery Lead to spearhead the early-stage exploration of Claim initiatives as part of our portfolio management practice. This role involves partnering with business and technology leaders across Claim to review proposed initiatives to understand the desired outcomes, user implications, and technology and analytic considerations in support of prioritization.

Key responsibilities include:

• Optimizing portfolio intake and exploration for consistency, visibility, and efficiency.
• Leading holistic business and technology analysis to analyze and explore new work requests.
• Identifying and assessing technical considerations to ensure suitable solution recommendations and technology selections.
• Crafting recommendations for the Senior Leadership team with high-level benefits, preliminary sizing, and technical considerations.

This position requires a balance of business and technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders about our work. A technical background is important to help evaluate the feasibility and impact of proposed solutions, ensuring they meet both business objectives and technical requirements. What Will You Do?
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with leadership teams across Claim.
  • Partner with other organizations, inclusive of other Strategic Planning & Execution organizations (SP&E), to ensure alignment on purpose, progress, and resource requirements needed to achieve business objectives.
  • Lead and facilitate appropriate cross discipline intake and high-level assessment of new work requests received by Claim Business Delivery, Analytics and Technology in order to and drive informed decision making (i.e. proceeding to strategy and/or inclusion in portfolio of active investments.)
  • Lead development of recommendations, ROM with assumptions, benefits hypothesis, user impact and capabilities
  • Manage and prioritize work in the discovery phase relative to need, benefit, resource availability, and strategic plan.
  • Partner with cross discipline team to refine and optimize discovery approach(s) to maximize value, increase speed to decision with low operational footprint.
  • Establish engagement model with Business Units to drive more holistic and robust planning, initiative prioritization, resource planning and strategic roadmap development.
  • Partner closely with Agile/Delivery practices to evolve organizational operating and governance model to align with agile best practices and processes.
  • Provides strong strategic leadership, direction, and execution focus to Strategy, Planning and Operations team, leading with a diverse and inclusive mindset and proactively engaging team members so they reach their full potential.


What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in technology roles.
  • Demonstrated experience developing multi-year technology strategies and roadmaps.
  • Strong experience in software and analytic lifecycle development. Comfortable with estimating and developing assumptions for technology solutions.
  • Experience working with Discovery, product, ideation, business development, and system analysis frameworks and approaches, i.e., Desirability, Feasibility, Viability (DFV).
  • Systemic thinker with strategic planning expertise, readily sees patterns and connections in a complicated environment.
  • 7 years of project management experience preferred. Experience working with advanced project-management methodologies and Agile principles.
  • Experience in developing strong, trusted partnerships with senior executives and constituent partners.
  • Ability to lead and inspire team members to achieve optimal results in a highly collaborative and matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and facilitation skills, adept at engaging both business and technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • 2 years of experience managing others and/or project teams preferred.
