
The Hartford of Hartford, Connecticut said Shekar Pannala was named the company’s chief information officer and leads technology, as well as cybersecurity, infrastructure and cloud modernization.
Prior to joining The Hartford, Pannala was global CIO of Chubb. Before Chubb, Pannala was chief technology officer at S&P Global.

Jeffery Hawkins was named chief data, AI and operations officer. In addition to his work overseeing data, analytics and AI, Hawkins now leads operations. Previously, Hawkins was CIO at CVS Health.
Pannala and Hawkins have been with The Hartford since 2023. They will report directly The Hartford Chairman and CEO Christopher Swift, effective immediately.
“Over the past several years, we have made tremendous progress on our technology and operations strategy, including digitizing processes, modernizing foundational technology infrastructure and investing in cloud, data and AI,” Swift said. “Our new structure enables us to focus more deeply on our critical technology-and-operations priorities and build on our competitive advantages.”
Everest Appoints Fobert to Lead US Retail Casualty

Everest, headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda, appointed Joe Fobert as head of U.S. retail casualty and industry practices for Everest Insurance. He will report to William Hazelton, executive vice president of Everest Insurance and president of North America Insurance.
Fobert has over three decades of commercial underwriting expertise, having previously served as head of major accounts excess casualty and chairman of global casualty product board for Chubb. He has also held casualty and risk management leadership roles of increasing responsibility at AIG and Crum & Forster.
